The SOP preparation would be succeful only if we have the support from the top management. Therefore setting the expectation with the management , identifying the process owners and seeking timely feedback from management is very important for a good SOP and also for timely completion of an SOP.

We should follow

  1. Meeting with the Top Management

Explaining them about the process of SOP preparation which will encompass through meetings , document collection verification and query resolutions sessions. We should specify the fact that good SOP is possible only with the support of the management

  1. Prepare the draft structure of the SOP within one week of the initiation of the Process

Process , Sub Process and Activity and short Activity description of the SOP should be drafted to get a sense of the total process.

  1. Documents

The difference between SOP and stories are documents. We should have documentation for the process which the management describes.Either the management mentions we dont have documents for an activity it occurs verbally or else should be able to justify the activity with the help of a document.

  1. Taking feedback from the Top Management regardung the structure of the SOP , so that they could direct us if we have missed out on any key points during our initial stage. of Q&A with process Owners.
